The VR simulation we worked on consisted of many exercises that work on motor skills. These exercises work the fingers, hand, arm, and wrist use to promote and improve movement due to stroke related damage. The exercises provide a relaxing environment while entertaining the patient so that the process can be beneficial as well as enjoyable. The exercises were originally designed in a program called Virtools that allowed the user to use an HMD (Head Mounted Displays) and a VR Glove to interact with the environment completed designated tasks. Our goal was to transfer the exercises to a new program called Unity 3D that we hoped would be easier to utilize, and function more efficiently than Virtools. - Hand Movement (Left, Down, Up, Right): Mouse,Depth (Forward & Backward): Arrow keys - Head Movement: WASD Keys on keyboard - Four Exercises: Birds, Sugar Cube, Cream, Sherry Glass For our research project at UIC our goal was to transfer 4 of the exercises in to Unity 3D and implement all the same functionality to prepare for ...
